Patients often tell us they don’t want to be taking painkillers, and can we help relieve their pain and discomfort so they don’t need to take them? Our aim is to help your body heal itself from pain or injury, minimising the need for medication wherever possible. However, we accept that painkillers and anti-inflammatories can have their part to play in the healing process, often an important part, but maybe just so you can get a good night’s sleep.
We use a range of techniques to help stimulate the body’s own healing process. These include mobilising (moving) joints, stretching muscles, massage and acupuncture for muscles and other soft tissues. We help to improve the functioning of the body in the area of pain, discomfort or injury. This helps local blood and lymphatic circulation and improves nervous system function. Your body then has the best chance to heal itself.
